Hi Dad.
Look, you’ve been telling me for years that I need to create a website where I can explain internet stuff or show you cool websites to visit. Since I couldn’t sleep all night, I decided I might as well go ahead and set that up.
You might notice that I set this up as a blogger site instead of hosting it myself.
There were a couple of reasons for that, actually.
1) Blogger is Free
Since, as you know, I’m an unemployed bum mooching off of you and mom at the moment, I felt it would seem ungrateful to spend even the $15 or so it would take to set up a self-hosted website with a fancy URL. Maybe in the future, after I get a job making all the money, I will host this site on its own, if that’ll make you happy.
2) Blogger works with Windows Live Writer
I think I’ve explained to you that I use Windows Live Writer to do the bulk of my online writing before. It’s a pretty great program, and I’ll probably write you a post explaining why it’s worth downloading at some point. One of the great things about it is that it connects pretty seamlessly to Blogger and Wordpress.Com.
You’re probably wondering why I am directly writing to you instead of writing a generalized blog.
Well, that’s pretty simple, a twitter friend of mine told me that it would probably be cute and funny if I wrote a website explaining things directed straight at you. I didn’t have any way of disagreeing with her, so I decided to give it a shot, for now at least.
Anyway, I’ll try to keep this site as up-to-date as possible. If you, or anyone else you know, wants me to explain something, just let me know.
